Hepsiba Serrano

Food Pantry Coordinator

Meet Hepsiba Serrano, a dedicated and compassionate individual who has served as our food pantry coordinator at True Life Center for over 2 years. During this time, she has shown exceptional leadership by expanding the volunteer team and increasing the number of families we can provide food for each month. Despite limited resources, Hepsiba's remarkable efforts have significantly contributed to the growth of this important outreach program.

About our Food Pantry

Volunteers

Our outreach program relies on over 250 volunteer hours every week. On Monday, a team member picks up donations from several local grocery stores. On Tuesday, another team unloads our weekly food bank delivery. Wednesday is our main event when all the volunteers arrive early to set up and distribute food. This happens every week and requires good coordination, a positive attitude, and a desire to serve the community.

Growth

Since its inception in 2010, our outreach program has undergone significant growth. Initially, we provided meals for an average of 2 people per week. Over time, our efforts have expanded, and we are now able to provide food for up to 6,500 individuals on a monthly basis. This substantial increase in impact demonstrates the scale and effectiveness of our outreach program, and we are committed to sustaining this positive trajectory as we continue to serve those in need.

Donations

Thanks to our local grocers and the Utah Food Bank (UFB); the distribution of food in this community has been possible. Aside from the generous support received from grocers and the UFB, numerous members of the community have also made significant contributions to the food bank. This support from individuals has been instrumental in ensuring the food bank can continue its vital work within the community.
